This site is responsible for production, assembly and distribution of microwaves and laptop computers.
It is also one of Panasonic’s major customer service centres in the UK. Panasonic has demand for large volumes of temporary labour.
The contract with Panasonic is multi-faceted and provides a full managed service to their Cardiff site.
Acorn currently provides a range of personnel and services including assembly operators / technicians, test technicians, maintenance engineers, and in the logistics / supply chain areas this also includes warehouse, forklift drivers and planners. Acorn also supplied commercial workers including call centre staff.
We also provide staff across all engineering and manufacturing disciplines up to and including senior management level appointments.
Acorn’s service also incorporates reactive urgent requirements within 24-hour turnaround times, as well as longer-term temporary assignments and cover for holidays, peak work levels and sickness.
In developing the most effective service for this account, Acorn established a ‘bespoke’ onsite recruitment branch allowing us to be always onsite. This is serviced by a designated team of recruitment personnel.
The branch is fully networked to our Head Office enabling the smooth management of candidate information, salary processing and statistical control.
Acorn’s aim was to provide a flexible, cost-effective workforce and to improve productivity and continuity through effective workforce management.
The successful achievement of which has ensured that we have retained the account for over twenty-one years, with the number of staff we have placed into Panasonic ranging at any one time from 120 people to 600 people at peak.
